Calling all Fashionista's and Shopaholics

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was pretty uneventful. I worked both Saturday and Sunday. Had class and an exam and some other school work to do. Last night M and I did head over to a friend's house for her baby shower which was alot of fun. I will post about that later and put up pics!!

So as I was getting ready for this baby shower last night I realized how much my life has changed in the last few years. Instead of getting ready for a night on the town, I am now getting ready for baby shower's, kid's birthday parties and simple cook out's by a friend's house. My going out wardrobe hangs untouched most of the time. And as I turned 26 a few weeks ago I think I need to revamp my style.

My favorite store to shop at is Forever 21. I love the prices of the clothes and can find some super cute things. Since the only store worthy of shopping at here in Fayetteville are American eagle, forever 21 and express I am kind of limited. I do love express and there clothes but for there trendier clothes I feel I can find similar styles cheaper at Forever 21. So with that being said I need to re-do my wardrobe. Make it more grown up worthy.

So I am asking the help of y'all. My mom is coming up in a few weeks and we are heading to the big city of Raleigh to do some serious damage shopping. Where do y'all like to shop. Did any of you have a similar dilemma of trying to find clothing appropriate to your age. Don't get me wrong I don't think anything is wrong with Forever 21. I will still shop there but I want to get some pieces for my wardrobe that are trendy, fashionable and yet appropriate for me to wear to a birthday party or out to a nice dinner with the hubby.

So let me know where you all like to shop!!!

  2. I love Macy's (their INC brand is has some really great pieces). I also like to find a bargain too and I can find great things at Kohl's and Target. New York and Co. has great stuff too. I also look at The Gap and Old Navy.

Good luck finding some new pieces! There are a lot of cute spring pieces out now!

  4. I definitely wouldn't say I'm a fashionista (ie I refuse to buy skinny jeans) but I have my own sense of what I like and mix in some trendy things. I think Dillards has an awesome "young professional" section that I love. I wear a lot of cute dresses that I find in little boutique type stores (Francesca's is a great one and they have a website too.) I think the biggest thing I learned is that I can afford really well made expensive BASICS and then hit up the cheaper stores/sales for all the ways to dress outfits up or change them to wear over and over again.

  7. I love JCrew, but its out of my budget, so I'm addicted to Ann Taylor Loft! And they are always running sales and promotions so I pretty much never pay full price!

  10. I'm like you, I love forever 21, Charlotte Russe. But I have to search for "Adult" looking clothes when I go to those stores. I also really have just started to like Ann Taylor Loft. Its younger and cheaper than Ann Taylor. You should look there.
Hmm I also really like Target. Hah, I know cheap but sometimes they have some really cute clothes.

God luck on your adult shopping spree.

  12. I love a lot of stores. New York and Company has great prices and clothes for work, casual or date night. I also like Express but they tend to be expensive. I usually shop there when i have gift cards or they are having a sale. I also LOVE Nordstrom Rack. I tend to find unique things there that would be incredably high priced for about half the price. I usually get dresses for 20-30, tops for 15-30 and so on. Its kinda like a T-JMAX with more organization. Hope this helps. Good Luck and Happy Shopping! :)

  13. I am a huge Ann Taylor/LOFT fan. I've had bad luck with Banana Republic stuff falling apart and I wish I could shop at JCrew, but I would need to win the lottery first!
