Our week in Paradise

Our week in paradise has come to an end. Sigh. It was hard to get in the car this morning knowing we were on our way back to reality. This truly was an amazing week. And we did absolutely nothing.

The week was full of walks on the beach, shelling for seashells, tanning, hot tubbing it, fruity drinks, dinners out, beach babies, Picture taking, relaxing and meeting new friends. I wish we could have stayed there forever. I'm all the more convinced that I will live on an island one day. I could get used to that lifestyle

Vacay!

In a few short days we will be here...

Sanibel island Fl. Heaven on earth. This is my absolute favorite vacation spot and I'm so excited to be sharing a little piece of heaven with the hubby and kiddos.

We leave tomorrow for a two day stop in Orlando where we plan on taking the kids to seaworld. Saturday morning we will get back on the road and head to sanibel

This is our first family vacation. Words cannot describe how much I have been looking forward to this. Not to mention its the first vacation the hubs and I have taken in a few years. Every time he has had leave its been spent going home to visit or families or moving. I mean as fun as that stuff is nothing beats quality time together as a family. Time to relax, recharge and get away from the world for a bit! This trip is def much needed

Fathers Day 2013

I wanted to do something amazing for the hubby this year for Father's Day. So my friend and I put our heads together and decided to send our hubby's fishing

We booked them a deep sea fishing charter and the only info they were given was that we were all going to dinner Friday night. At dinner we gave them their cards with a cute poem written inside that gave them clues about what their actual gift was.

Saturday morning they left bright and early. At noon they were done and the slew of fish they caught was well worth their trip. The guys had so much fun. And I loved being able to plan something fun for my husband that showed him how much we love and appreciate it

After the boys were done fishing we enjoyed lunch down at the harbor in Destin. It was a perfect weekend

Happy Father's Day babe

Diaper Review and Giveaway

From day one I've been a Pamper's kind of girl. I love the Pamper's swaddlers for my kiddos. They are so soft and comfortable which is great since both of my kids have very sensitive skin. I have tried huggies, Seventh Generation and the walmart brand. None just worked as well as my beloved Pampers. But when Earth's best sent me a huge box of diapers I was excited to try them. And I loved them.

I do feel they are not as soft as my beloved Pamper's, but knowing that they were made with less chemicals is a huge perk for me. They held the leaks just as well, if not better as my Pamper's and neither kid broke out from wearing them. When Gianna wore them at night they were super absorbent, much more so than my Pampers. It was nice to not have to wake up and do laundry right away every morning. So in all honesty, I loved them. And I'm giving away a pack of size 3 diapers and a tub of wipes to my reader's.

Dieting and Motivation

It's been about two years since I stepped foot in a gym. I joined the YMCA a month ago and besides one spin class I haven't been going. Yesterday that changed. The hubs and I swore to workout together everyday and he dragged my lazy butt back to the gym. It was awesome yet torture at the same time
Since the hubs has come home and I've stopped breast feeding I've gained 10 pounds. Instead of having only 5 pounds of baby weight left to lose I now have 15 to get to where I want to be. So frustrating. But no more excuses. Even though we leave for vacation next week I'm going to still be active and eat very healthy until I can shed these last few pounds
As usual I pursued Pinterest for some motivation. Here it goes

So here it goes. Here's to a new me

Princess Arms

From the moment I found out Gianna was a girl I had her whole life mapped out. Well the first few years at least. They were full of dance classes, tumbling and mom and me activities complete with matching tutus, leotards and beautiful pink ballet shoes.

Now most of this activities here in our town can't be started till the child is 3 but the gymnastics studio in town does a mom in tot class for ages 1-3. Score! So the hubs and I signed Gianna up. Giddy with excitement knowing that we were providing our future Olympian, umm daughter with a great start

Yesterday was our first class. I neatly pulled back her hair, dressed her in her cutest onesie and watched with anticipation as G and I walked out onto the floor mat to meet the other moms and tots for our first class. And it wasn't long after that first step onto the mat that my dreams of my daughter being an Olympian died. For Gianna chose that moment to throw an all out temper tantrum. She wanted nothing to do with any of it.

She refused to climb up or slide down the slide, swing on the bars, jump into the out or attempt a somersault. (Mind you these are all activities that she has done before, either at open gym or at home) each and every activity presented to her resulted into her screaming no, throwing herself face first to the ground and screaming. The hubby was
Watching from the observation deck laughing hysterically. The whole hour was spent with me literally picking her off the floor, attempting an activity with her and carrying her from mat to mat. One time the instructor stepped in and worked with her on the balance beam and that quieted her down and made her willing to try. (Hmm, maybe I'm the problem)

And too make all this worse was the mom next to me. With the two year old toddler dressed in a sparkly leotard. Anything this child did was met with constant Instruction from her mom. Princess arms the woman called, point your feet she screamed. Lunge, squat, etc etc. At one point I stopped and looked around for the camera crew of Toddlers and Tiarras. They weren't there

The only part of the class G enjoyed was the very end where the kids all had to line up in a straight line and run, hop, skip or jump across the room. While all the other kids listened and followed instructions Gianna just ran around like a crazy person, calling out Daddy and waving to him. Sigh

I know that in the grand scheme of things Gianna is still young. Not even 2 while most of those kids were 3 and had been taking the class for a few weeks already. So we will stick with it and hopefully it will get better. Next week though its the husbands turn to chase her around the floor mat.

And while my crazy child caught a few eyes of the watching parents, a very heavy mom jumped into the foam pit with her daughter and got stuck. As in couldn't get out. As in needed people to come help her.( I know I'm horrible) but hey it made for a good laugh and a less frustrating time at mom and tot class
And in the poor woman's defense the foam pit is pretty deep!

I may be waiting awhile before I buy Gianna a sparkly leotard but nothing can beat spending time with my daughter

Gianna lately

My little girl will be 2 next month. 2! It seems like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant with her.
My world changed completely the day she was born and I can't imagine life without her. Being her mom is the greatest joy and blessing I have ever received

Watching her grow and change every day is a blast! She has such a fun personality and is learning something new constantly. She amazes me so much

I thought I'd do a little update since I haven't done one in awhile

G's favorite show is still bubble guppies but she has started to ask to watch Elmo some days as well

She is a pretty decent eater. Some days she eats a lot, others she picks at her plate. I don't push eat. If she doesn't eat, she doesn't eat. And she also doesn't get snack in between meals. She loves fruits and vegetables and will eat them over a cupcake anyday.

She is still in size four diapers and wears 24 months clothes

She asks to go potty and will sit on her little toilet and wipe but has never actually gone.
She prefers to run out and pee on the floor. Sigh

She knows the noises a dog, cat, monkey, fish, pig, duck, cow, train, lion and babies make

She calls her baby brother E-shee or hey buddy. She loves to try and pick him up but if he touches her or a toy she melts down. Hints of the future to come

She will tell us how old she is but don't try to correct her on the number of fingers she holds up

No and mommy are her no favorite word. She says them thousands of times a day. Repeatedly.

Her favorite toys are her baby dolls and she now must go to bed with all five of her babies and every baby blanket she owns.

She loves shoes! I will find her in her closet trying on all her shoes. A girl after my own heart

She loves water. She will play on the rain, at the pool or on the beach as long as she is around water. Or waa-was as she calls it

She now will point to the tv and comment on what she sees or laugh at whatever show is on.

She changes so much each day I can't get over it.

And with all these exciting new things she is doing comes a little bit of separation. She still loves to cuddle, and give hugs and kisses but our days of cuddling on the couch are long gone. She is becoming more and more independent by the day and while it makes me happy to see how much of a big girl she is it tugs at the heart strings a bit

So I relish every little hug, cuddle and kiss I get. For my little girl is growing up fast

Mommy and daddy love you baby girl.

Gianna's last day of school

I enrolled Gianna in a one day a week daycare when she was 15 months old and Ethan was one week old. Today was her last day. I dropped off a baby back in October and picked up a toddler today. Gianna loved everything about her daycare class and she has grown so much these past few months. Watching my little girl listen, sit with her classmates and play with all the other kids just makes me heart melt. To end out the year they have a little bubble celebration for the parents and kids. I tried my hardest not to cry as I watched my toddler run around chasing after bubbles, screaming in pure joy! I am so blessed to have found an amazing church with a great daycare program
