Help! I'm addicted to wine!
Before the hubby deployed I rarely drank. And if I did drink it was beer. Miller lite to be exact. Can you tell I'm from Wisconsin
Shortly before M left we started having weekly get togethers with good friends of ours. There the girls would drink wine and I would have a glass. Yellow tail Merlot was the wine my friend always brought and at first I had to get used to the taste. Def a lot different than beer!
So I started drinking wine and trying out different wines and flavors. I found I prefer reds over whites and sweet over dry. A favorite is Duplin brand wines which are made right here in Nc. I went from barely drinking to having a glass or two a night
Imagine my hubbys surprise when he returned. He had a wife who rarely drank who now comes home from work and pours herself a glass. I can't help it, it relaxes me and it's heart healthy!!
But now when I pour myself a glass my Hubby makes comments about how I'm a lush, how I'm a vino, how I need AA
So why do you think. Is a glass or two a night a problem?

A glass or so a night isn't a problem. I don't think atleast. I love Duplin wine!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh I was just about to blog that question this week! Yellow tail merlot is my weakness too. I dont have an issue admitting I pour myself about two glasses of wine a night when Im relaxing but I stopped this past week because of my weight loss attempts and I think it has made a difference.
ReplyDeleteSome days require a nice glass of wine... or two. I don't really think there's anything wrong with it. I haven't had Duplin wine. I like red wines also... but there is one white wine that is absolutely to die for and there's no way you can finish a bottle and not be tipsy... and it's a little bottle at that. Eis Wein. Mmmm it's so good :D
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? I practically need a glass or two to get up in the morning (I'm totally kidding). I think it's fine, as long as that glass or two doesn't turn into a bottle or two.
ReplyDeleteI think your hubby is just teasin!
ReplyDeleteOne or two is PERFECTLY fine! We are out of wine or else I would be doing it too right now!
I know PLENTY of people who have at least a glass a night. The only reason I don't drink a glass each night is because of the calories - and that's only because I really am trying to lose weight. Once I get to my "happy weight" I will definitely allow myself to indulge in a glass of wine during the week!
ReplyDeleteI think it is perfectly fine! We all need to relax and unwind... it becomes a problem when you freak out because you don't have it one night... but just because it relaxes you... no biggie!!! If I wasn't breastfeeding I would be doing the same thing right now! Give me a few months lol!
ReplyDeleteI like wine! I'm more of a sweet white kind of girl, especially white Zinfandel, but I've discovered Barefoot Sweet Red, and it's delicious!
ReplyDeleteIf you ever read my blog you'll notice on my weekly pregnancy updates that I frequently write that I miss wine. I used to have a glass with dinner almost every night. I haven't had anything since the beginning of February and its killing me!! I mean, I'm ok, don't get me wrong, but one of the three reasons I'm considering not having more than one kid is because I don't want to give it up again! lol. I was a sweet white wine drinker myself though. :) You can bet that I will have half a glass the first day I get home from the hospital too!
ReplyDeleteUm, I live in Italy so of course I am going to say it is ok!! I use to like whites but now after being here I love sweet reds. Oh SO yummy! But there are times I want a dry red! Girl, enjoy those glasses of wine! Um, you now have me wanting to go buy a few bottles! (NOT for one sitting of course!)
ReplyDeleteDefinately not! I love having a glass or two when I get home from work, with dinner, or while enjoying a bubble bath. I see no difference in that and having a couple of beers each night. If you can convince your husband, I totally recommend checking out Napa. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteDefinately not! I was the same way always had been then we went to Apple Barn Winery in TN and I fell in LOVE and agree Duplin wine is great but now living in EL Paso i cant find it. Speaking of wine...going to the Fall Wine Fest on sunday!! And some of the other wives and I have "I heart wine nights" it is so much fun!!!!!
ReplyDeleteno way jose! I have actually been looking forward to a glass all day... which is maybe a little of a problem. If you lived closer I'd share a bottle with ya!
ReplyDeleteI think it is totally fine! Big difference between being a wino and being an alcoholic!
ReplyDeletehaha a true vino you are! i have my Masters in Addiction Studies... and careful who you ask but in MY Un{professional} opinion... AA is NOT needed {haha} Unlesss.... these glasses each night are taking priority in life versus anything else that needs you immediate attn after work... and i am sure not! haha cheers! -A
ReplyDeleteIf it is a problem, then I'm in the same boat with you!
