I have seen and heard people raving about these books via twitter, Facebook or my friends who had read them. After hearing so many good things about them I went out and bought book one. That was last October and on my bookshelf the book sat.
I finally picked it up again a few weeks ago. I had just finished reading the Help. A book that engrossed me and grabbed my attention from page 1 that I couldn't put it down. The hunger games did not do that however so I put it down after reading about 50 pages
Everyone says they arent usually the type of book they would read. And I agree. I do not like reading books that are about a post apocalyptic world, or the end of civilization as we know it.
And the subject of a type of games where there's only one survivor didn't sound appealing.
However everyone I know told me to try reading it again. That it is really good. So I picked it up on Wednesday and finished it yesterday. It took me until page 100 to get hooked but once I was I couldn't put it down! I'm off to Barnes and nobles today to get the next two books. I can't wait to read them
So if you are looking for a good read I would highly recommend it.
Tell me, what are y'all reading?

I'm currently on the second hunger games book and it's so good! I said te same thing though it's not a book I would normally read but there's something about them that makes you not be able to put them down!
ReplyDeleteI also read unbearable lightness by Portia de Rossi it was a pretty good book.
Glad you loved it!
ReplyDeleteWe might have the same taste in books, haha. I LOVED The Help & couldn't put it down. Post Apocalypse books? Not interested! I just finished reading Twenties Girl, by Sophie Kinsella, which was cute but not my favorite of Kinsella's books. I have been thinking of trying The Hunger Games next, but I'm not sure if i would stick with it to page 100!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED The Help and The Hunger Games! I can't wait for the movie to come out. I just finished reading a book called The Wedding Gift, I really liked it, but it's historical fiction, not sure if you like that type of reading. =)
ReplyDeleteI'm currently on the last of the Hunger Games series. I couldn't put the first one down and then when I got toward the end, I really had to get the second one. The second book, I was done with in a flash. I've been slowly reading the third one because I know it's coming to an end and I want to savor it. :)
ReplyDeleteNext up, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
