The Rapture

Not gonna lie, all this talk about the world coming to an end is starting to creep me out!

As a Christian I was taught no one will know the exact time and date of Gods second coming.

I know a lot of the stuff people are posting on twitter are poking fun at the talk of the rapture but it still creeps me out!

Any thoughts or opinions?

  2. It's kinda creeping me out too, but mostly I'm just thinking that all those people in the Caravans are nuts. I mean sure, they have their calculations and what not, but since when has the Bible ever needed to be translated in this kind of way? and, what of the verses that tell us straight up that no-one will know when He is coming again? these nuts are saying that the Bible doesn't lie... ummm... okay then... so if it's saying "no-one will know" how are they supposed to have figured it out and "know" just doesn't make any sense to me. I wish my Grampa were still alive so I could see what he made of all this nonsense... he was a Pastor and a TRUE Man of God - but I have a feeling he wouldn't even give these people more than a few moment's notice... maybe I'll ask my dad if he remembers anything Gramps said when Harold Camping predicted this the last time... ya know, when he was wrong the first time...

  4. I feel like its a bunch of stupidness, but.. if it is true by chance, there is absolutely nothing we can do to stop it, so why freak out about it? Just like the whole 12-21-2012.. I just don't believe its gonna happen.. but if it does, what can we do?

  5. I agree, we can't know the day or time it will happen. And on the other hand if you're a true follower and lover of Jesus, you have nothing to worry about anyways!! :D

  6. Well here's my take on it. I really hope it doesn't happen and am fairly sure it won't. But if it does, well I might be screwed, haha. And if it doesn't, I wonder what all those people who are absolutely certain it is going to happen are going to do when saturday comes and goes without event.
Either way, there is nothing we can do about it, so for now, I'm going to enjoy the sunshine. :)

  7. It's not going to happen. No one knows!! My husband studies the Bible all the time & he says there is no way to calculate what they say they are calculating. The Bible is not written chronologically for one thing. I wish i could remember how he actually said it, b/c it was perfect. This many is trying to predict something that cannot be predicted. And honestly, he shouldn't even try to figure it out! Not even the SON knows... nor the angels! Yet Harold Camping does? I doubt it.

I'm sure you've seen this verse already, but here it is again:

    Mark 13:32-33
But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone. Take heed, keep on the alert, for you do not know when the appointed time will come."

Keep living your life as if he COULD come at any moment. But don't be creeped out about what some weirdo says!! :)

  8. I know its passed the day, but I had to comment on this quick anyways :)

If Jesus doesnt know the day and all the angels in Heaven don't know the day... I don't think a random man will. God didn't tell anyone for a reason, so that every day we live like its our last!
