The Kindle and The Nook

Reading is my all time favorite hobby. Unfortunately with work, school and housework I never have that much time to read. I have about 15 books on my dresser right now screaming to be read! When the hubs and I go on vacation, no matter how long or short of a trip we are taking, I have my own book bag filled with books.
So I was thinking about purchasing the Kindle or the Nook. I hear the books are cheaper than buying them in the store and it would make traveling easier since I wouldn't have to lug around my bag of books. I am not sure if I would use it though. Even reading blogs on the computer makes my eyes hurt after awhile and I'm not sure if staring at a book reader would do the same. I also love going to Barnes and Nobles and buying books. I think I would miss that if I had a book reader. Does anyone have one? What are your thoughts on it? Is it a must have? Let me know!!

  1. I don't have one and I am sure they are great but there is nothing like actually turning the pages on a book so I don't think I am going to give in to the kindle

  3. I am crazy about reading and I could never replace an actual book with something electronic. That and like you said, looking at screen is bad for the eyes. Just ask mine. Never had a problem with my vision in my life and BAM! the first year I blogged I had to get glasses cause I'm nearsighted. Not a coincidence.

  4. I LOVE my Kindle. I am a book fanatic--I love the smell, the feel, the sight, of a book. And honestly? The Kindle disappears into my hands & I don't even notice it's not a real book. I suppose that could also be in part to me just getting completely lost in whatever it is I'm reading as well ;)

  7. I don't have either, but I've been craving one like you wouldn't believe. My bro in law just got one for his birthday and already he loves it. I think they've gotten pretty good reviews.

  8. I wanted one when I saw them before Christmas, but after thinking about it, I don't want one. I like buying a book, then keeping it my own little library. :)

  9. I LOVE going to B&N too but right now I'm itching for a Kindle. I have to do so much reading and research for the marketing plan for my manuscript so the books are piling up. And its not books that I need in a library setting, just things I "have to" read if I want to stay up to date on the market.

If I got one I'd still buy a lot of regular books. That would just suppliment and be for "work." Maybe that's how I'll justify spending that money :P

  11. A) I don't have a Kindle but I have the ap on my IPhone and I like it for easy, chic-lit books. But I LOVE to buy books so if it is a more "serious" book, I will have to go shopping!

    B) I am so awful at keeping up with who follows me so I just am now getting over to your blog! Love it! Super cute! and I am now hooked!

    xx
