Three Legitimate Fears

Three legitimate fears

1. Tornado's and thunder storms. I was in a tornado once as a child. I was out girl scout camping and can remember walking to the bathrooms that were outside of the cabin where we were staying when the tornado sirens started going off. I panicked. The camp ranger called to tell us to go into the basement for safety. I can remember sitting in the basement of this old rickety farmhouse, water pouring down the walls cuddling with my mom who was luckily one of the chaperones on this trip. I will never forget the sound of the wind roaring past the house. The utter devestation outside after it was all over. The small town that had a lot of damage. Those memories are burned into my mind forever. So much so that for the longest time after anytime it stormed I would go sit in my basement. Now we live in Fl where they are no basements and I still hate storms. I prefer not to drive in them and if I know that it is going to storm I will stay home. I have the safest place mapped out in the house to seek cover if there ever is a tornado. And hopefully if we encounter one I can stay calm for you kids

2. A Natural Disaster. I cannot watch movies such as 2012, Deep Impact, or anything having to do with a zombie apocalypse. Because I stay up all night freaking out about them. What if that were to happen. What would I do, where would I go? After watching  these movies I sit up all night, waking up your dad to ask such questions and having nightmares about such instances. And in truth we live in a scary world. A world where people in other countries want to hurt us, a world where shootings occur at movie theaters, malls, schools, and bombs go off at marathons. I want to be able to protect yall from all of these things and the fact of the matter is that I can't. And that is my biggest fear of all

3. The end of the world. Now I know as a christian I should not fear the end of the world. After all I fully believe Christ died for my sins and that I will be saved. Still the end of the world scares me for I am not sure how it will happen. And every time someone predicts the end of the world I get terrified. I want to live a long life with my family. Spend it with my kids and grand kids. So hopefully the end of the world is years and years away!

  2. I am petrified of tornadoes. I have never seen one in real life and I hope to keep it that way even though I am going to Oklahoma in 3 weeks. I hope there will be none!
