I have a confession!

I have some confessions to make

1. I have serious wedding envy! Not that I don't love my wedding. I do. It was perfect. A small intimate gathering on the beach, then a reception dinner overlooking the marina. It was awesome. Just sometimes I wish we would have had a big grand affair. A really amazing reception in some beautiful old ballroom somewhere with tons of lights and elegant decorations. I wish I would have had our photographer's taken more pictures, especially after looking at y'all's beautiful wedding photo's. I think to take care of that problem I am going to have my parent's bring my wedding dress down to NC when they come visit this summer and hire a photographer to take pics of M and I in a few different area's around town. I want some modern, hip photo's of us to blow up and hang around the house!
We were supposed to have a big reception in our hometown this past august but M couldn't get off work so we lost out on the money we put down for the hall and photographer. I guess that could explain why I have such bad wedding envy hehe. I know that our wedding symbolized us and our relationship perfectly and I wouldn't change the way we did it, but hey a girl can dream right!

2. I just bought the Shape magazine for brides. Why you may ask? Because I still love looking at wedding magazines and planning weddings. I even wanted to go to school to be a wedding planner after planning my own. Hmm maybe that will be a career move for me!! So when M isn't with me I sometimes will slip a Bride's magazine in my cart at the store and stare at it when I get home. Hiding it away so M doesn't make fun of me for it

3. Sometimes I love reading trashy novels. Jackie Collins especially. I love her books. She just came out with a new one and I bought it immediately. Her books are filled with plenty of hollywood drama, gossip, and a ton of other trash. I love it. I can read one of her books in like two days. I bought her newest one last week. It's called Poor Little Bitch Girl. Nice title huh! I was reading it in front of my hubby and he laughed so hard! Hey what can I say sometimes a trashy book is what you need to lift a bad mood or escape after a hard day

4. I am beyond addicted to blogging. I love all the bloggy friends I meet, reading other people's blogs and especially reading comments left on my post. I should have started blogging a long time ago!!

Hope you enjoyed my little confessions. Happy Monday everyone!!

  5. I still love things wedding related too! There's always things I see that I think would have been pretty/fun to do at our wedding. But I still think our wedding was perfect :)

  6. I love weddings too ;)Making visual journals out of wedding magazines and home and lounge magazines is so fun! It's a way to indulge and recreate old and new desires no matter any circumstance while still living it forward ;) What a lovely post! ;)

  7. I think we all go through the "could've, should've" stuff afterwards. It could always have been different, but the wedding you had at the time was perfect for you guys then, so that's all that matters!

  8. Ugh, funny that you posted about wedding envy. Our simple little courthouse wedding was fine, we knew we'd celebrate the big deal this year with all of our family and then some. But now that it's getting closer I'm seriously reconsidering.
Is that weird? To NOT want a huge fancy wedding?

I can't believe I didn't know about it sooner! Already I've found such amazing, inspirational people! It's awesome! Happy Monday!

  11. I'm not married yet, but share your wedding obsession! I love everything about them and whenever a friend is getting married I'm the first one to volunteer my help. I just can't get enough of them!

P.S. I have a friend that I think got married through the same company as you : ) They're pictures were beautiful just like yours are!

  13. I completely understand about the wedding confession.... I ditched the big wedding affair that my family and I had planned for 6 months, went behind their back, and booked a trip to Maui just for hubby and I to get married... do I sometimes think "what if" and imagine what it would have been like had we gone with our original plan... yes... but then I remind myself that it was OUR wedding OUR way, just like yours was yours. No one could ever take that away from you.

And yes, I too, am obsessed with wedding magazines, wedding sites, and all things weddings. It's just too hard to let go!

  14. I know exactly what you mean about wedding envy. If I know someone getting married- I go all out stalker on their wedding. I honeslty don't know what I am going to do when mine is over in June!

  15. I know exactly how you feel!! Kyle and I got married in a little tiny chapel in Vegas (my first wedding was the whole nine yards)..I sometimes sit and wish that we had waited and had the huge wedding, but everything happens the way it's supposed to. :)

  16. I am not married, not dating, no where close to getting married, but I dream of my wedding. I have everything basically planned out. I always have. I think it is in a gene of a female to love love love doing this.!! Have a good week.!

  17. I'm not engaged, so wedding planning is not in the cards at the moment, but when the time comes, I'm SO asking for your advice! :)

I go back and forth mentally on whether I'd prefer a traditional military formal wedding, or just a really small, casual wedding with a big reception after. I couldn't care less about flowers or colors of bridesmaid dresses, which leans me towards the casual wedding, but I love the traditions of a formal military style wedding. Who knows. We'll see what happens when the time is right! :)

I am addicted to blogging too. :) I love reading everyone's blogs!

  18. I am a newbie to your blog. I am really enjoying it. My boyfriend is in the army. We aren't engaged or married yet. I am already looking at stuff to get an idea of what I like. I really don't want a big wedding. It would be nice, but I would rather have a small wedding with just the people I want.

  19. I enjoyed your confessions! And I get wedding envy every now and then myself...because my husband and I have yet to have the wedding we were supposed to have almost 3 years ago! I think we're gonna go with a small reception/vow renewal at our 5th year. anyway, i love the wedding photos that you have on the beach. they're gorgeous!

  20. I hear ya on the blogging! I love it! And everytime I'm at the store and see Poor Little Bitch Girl I'm sooo tempted to buy it just for the title :)

  21. I'm worried I will have wedding envy/withdrawl when my wedding is over. We are getting married in December, on the beach, with only close family. I know in my heart this is right for us. But sometimes I can't help wonder if I will regret not doing the big, fancy wedding someday...

  22. Hi, I know it's been a million years. But I TOO am obsessed with weddings and magazines. I almost bought one the other night. I don't want to ever have one again - or re-plan mine - but I'm sure I'll plan one or two more for friends and a sister along the way!

  23. I agree about the wedding pictures! We had a beautiful ceremony and a wonderful reception, but looking back at my wedding pictures I just don't have the modern/intimate photos I wish I had. I keep telling myself that whenever I get pregnant I will hire a great photographer to take beautiful pictures of me all glowing and preggo. I wish I cuold go back and get some better wedding pictures - but I will never look as beautiful as I did on my wedding day again. Poor us!!!
