Twilight Fans!

How many of you out there are twihards! This nerd right here is bigtime. I will hopefully be seeing Breaking Dawn tomorrow afternoon. I can't freaking wait. I still remember when the first Twilight movie came out. I had never even heard of the books. It was 2008, the day before Thanksgiving and I was at school taking one of my master's classes in special ed. Everyone was talking about the books and the movie. My professor had gone with her daughter's at midnight to see Twilight and she was talking about how her daughter's dressed up as Bella and it seemed to be the new craze.

I was clueless. I asked what everyone was tlaking about and I was told a book series and now a movie about a teenager falling in love with a vampire. Not my type of book usually so I tuned out of the conversation after that.

Later on in the day when I was at target the hubs called. He was then deployed in Afghanistan. It was him that brought up reading the Twilight books. Apparently someone had left behind all four books at the compound where he waws staying and he picked up the first one and read it. The hubs like me is an avid reader and will read just about anything. He told me to read it and then we could read the whole series together. I was still hesitant. A book intended for teenager's about falling in love with a vampire. Come on! I was 24 years old. A little to old for the intended audience. But they had a paperback copy of Twilight on sale for 5 bucks so I bought it. I started it that day while waiting for another class to begin and ironically enough a good friend called and begged me to go see the movie with her. I agreed and off we went to see Twilight. We were prolly the oldest people in the theater since thanksgiving break had started and the place was crawling with high schoolers.

But I have to admit I loved the movie. I finished the first book on Thanksgiving and the day after rushed out to by the rest of the series. I would stay up all night reading them! I was hooked. And the best part was being able connect with the hubby when he was thousands of miles away and on a different time zone. Everytime we talked we were able to talk about the books and try and predict what would happen next. It helped to think about something other than the fact that we were spending the first 10 months of our marriage apart, or that deployment's were hard! Especially your first one! And it really helped the last few months of his deployments to fly by.

I still can't pick up a twilight book without thinking about them as my way to surviving my first deployment. So of course whenever a new movie comes out in the series I rush to see it. However the hubs isn't a big fan of the movie's. So he won't go with me. Luckily my MIL is coming into town today and mentioned she'd like to go see it. So now of course the hubs has agreed to take us. Woot Woot!

Breaking Dawn was my favorite book so I'm so excited to see how it turns out. Anyone else going to see it? What was your favorite movie? Book? Let's talk Twilight
