Summer Reading List

Summer is fast approaching. School is almost out and in just 9 days I start my summer work schedule. This means I will no longer be working Friday or Saturday. I am def looking forward to a four day work week and a 3 day weekend.

When I was a kid you knew summer was starting when my local library had their summer book club. I couldn't wait to go into the library and join. Every book you read had to be recorded and when you read so many books you earned certain prizes. I lived for this every summer

As an adult I am still addicted to reading. If fact I knew my hubby was the one by his love of books. I still remember visiting his apartment for the first time and instead of a huge flat screen tv plastered to his wall or Scarface poster's there was a huge bookshelf(the same one I had to be exact) full of books). That was it for me. He was the one!

With the hubby gone for about another month and a half I will be spending my three day weekends pool side with a good book. Just thought I would share them with y'all

Also I have spoken with a few of you about the Nook. Barnes and Nobles E-Reader. Do any of you have it and if so is it worth getting. I went and looked at it and loved it. The amount of money you will save buying e-books instead of regular books is amazing but at the same time I know there are certain author's who I will need to run out and get their newest books. So I want to make sure I'd use it before going out and spending the money on it. So what do ya'all think. Is it worth it? Do you love or hate it?

Happy Reading

  1. I have the Kindle. I got it in Jan so had it for about 5 months. I love it. I read about 85% of my books on it. I recently did buy a paper book because they wanted $16.99 on the Kindle which I thought was way too high for an e-book. Plus I love to read in the bath and kinda afraid to take the Kindle in there. But I do think it is worth it for someone who loves to read :)

  2. I have seriously been considering buying a Kindle. I think that overall if you're a reader it would be worth it!

  3. I have a kindle and I love it!! I read a lot of books on it and really like it!

  4. The Emily Giffin books are great. I never read "Love the One Your with" or the book she wrote about the baby, but"Borrowed" and "Blue" are great. And her writing style is great also. I bought my husband the Sony E-Reader for Christmas and he likes it. It's one of the few that can be used on Google books and for PDF files (Some Google Books are free!).

  5. That is great that you have a whole list to read! :) I would recommend a military book: Faith Deployed by Jocelyn Green! A definite encouragement!

  6. great books on your list! I need to add some of them to mine!

  7. I just read The Help not that long good!

  8. I'm a new follower, and fellow book addict :-). I just wanted to say hi and I'm looking forward to reading more from you!

  9. i am currently reading house rules. great book!

  10. Oh I LOVE to read as well!!! Anything by Jodi Picoult, hmmm Jane Green, Sophia Kinsella . . . oh so many good authors. We just got back from vaca a little while ago, and with the many flights, train rides, etc I read 4 novels. I really like "Good Things" by Mia King, was really good!

  11. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah was amazing!

  12. I am curious about the E-reader as well. Let me know what you find out! I can definitely remember as a kid looking forward to the summer reading as well. I would read like four books a week! I was an avid reader. I've lost a bit of that through the years but I think I want to start it up again.

  13. I love to read as well!! I am currently re-reading some novels by Brian Haig. They are military and law oriented which are two topics I love.

I have been thinking about buying an e-reader but hubby doesn't see the point. He isn't much of a reader. So maybe I can get one when he deploys. LOL

Anyways I hope you have a great weekend!

  14. I wanted to let you know I left you an award over at my blog! Congratulations!
