Tornado's

One of my biggest fears is tornado's. I was in one when I was girl scout camping as a kid and from that day forward at the slightest hint of rain I immediately headed to my basement.
Too bad they don't have basement's here in NC cause I could sure use one right about now. As I am writing this I am blogging from my interior bathroom with the dogs. At about 8:00 my friend dropped me off at home from a girls day shopping. About twenty minutes later she called and asked me to turn on the news and see if there was a tornado warning since she was pulled over at a gas station. As I was on the phone with her I could hear the wind, rain and hail. I stepped outside and checked out the weather but it was only raining lightly by my apt. I ran back inside and all of a sudden they started broadcasting a tornado warning. I called my friend to tell her and she was on the road that they were saying the tornado was around. As I watched the news they predicted the tornado to head in my direction. Then they predicted that the exact streets I lived on where to be hit next. My friend made it to another friend's house and I quickly lit candles all over my house and am hanging out in my bathroom. Now they are saying the warning is over but a thunderstorm warning is still in effect. It's times like these I really want my hubby to be home!!

  3. Oh I hope everything is ok! When we were in Gergia I quickly learnt that my husband would be at work for EVERY tornado warning and I would be alone freaking out! He told me to hide in our walk in closet and distract myself with my clothes till it was over haha

  6. That's horrible. I feel so bad for you. I hope everything ended up ok. I have never encountered a tornado or hurricane. I guess living in little Rhode Island pays off. I love thunderstorms but I can only imagine how bad they are.

  8. i used to huddle in a closet and cry when a tornado warning came through. i spent a year in southern GA and 4 years in KS. After all those years being so terrified - I actually miss thunder storms now. It's so weird.

  9. awwww, I'm glad you are okay. That sounds really scary! We live in VA and there have been several tornado warnings since I've lived here but they were always the next town over, none that close to me. But I always get really scared.
