2 month review

M has been gone for two months already. This marks the halfway point of this deployment. Only two more months to go. Some days I can't believe that 2 months has already passed, other days I can't believe I still have 2 more months to go.

I have gotten quite accomplished these past 2 months. I finished school, paid off alot of debt, enjoyed reading on my downtime and become addicted to Yellow tail Merlot wine! There are some things I have let go though, such as my cooking and cleaning skills. Also, without the man of the house light bulbs need to be changed, and my car needs an oil change that is 5000 miles overdue. Not joking on that one

So these next two months I need to start cooking again, throughly clean up the apt, and take care of some other odds and ends around the house.

My parents are coming into town in 18 days so that will give me motivation to clean. This past weekend I got to go back home to Wisconsin. It was so nice to be back. But 3 days def was not enough time to see everyone.

Friday I left NC around noon and of course my flight was delayed. Once I finally boarded my flight in Atlanta and cruised out on the runway, a huge thunderstorm hit so we spent about a half hour sitting on the runway before finally taking off for WI. I got to WI around 6ish and my family and my bff went out for a fish fry. Fish fries are a huge WI thing. Every friday night the thing to do is go out for a fish fry. I missed that tradition like crazy and nothing has ever tasted so good as my beer battered fish and fries. Yumm! It was also so good to catch up with my bestie. I miss her like crazy.

Saturday I caught up with a few other girl friends. My one friend had a baby a week before I moved to NC so I never got to meet her daughter until this weekend. She is such a cutie. My other really good friend just found out she will be having a girl in October so after enjoying lunch with these two we headed off to the mall to do some baby clothes shopping. My friend Megs and I have always been major shopaholics so we are training her unborn daughter to be like us already! It was such a blast go hit up Baby Gap and gymboree. I can't wait until I have a little girl to dress up. They have the cutest baby clothes these days!

Saturday night my family and I went out to the Bonefish Grill for a nice family dinner. Afterwards my brother's girlfriend came over and brought along the puppy that I had rescued. He has gotten so big and I am sad to say he didn't seem to remember me :( That night we had a campfire in our backyard and I had the best glass of Sangria wine. Yumm!

Sunday was my cousin's bridal shower. I surprised her by coming and she was beyond shocked. It was so nice to be there for her shower and it was alot of fun. Now only 2 more months until her wedding. I cannot wait!

And that about sums up my weekend. It never fails, everytime I go home I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to see everyone. I think I need to make more trips home!!

  1. Since K got back he's had to fix my antenna, get the oil changed (twice!), do something to the tires, have some front end work done, put in a radar detector, put stuff on the stairs so we can walk on them with shoes and take the shoes off in the kitchen (we have a multilevel townhouse), and do various heavy lifting.

I clearly got nothing done while he was gone for a year lol.

  2. I'm glad you were able to go home to WI. I definitely agree that it never seems like there is enough time to see everyone.
