Last night the news was forecasting snow. I was excited at the thought of a snow day. Since I go to work out every morning at 5:45 I got up extra early today to watch the news and see if any of the schools I work at were closed. None! So off I went to the gym and then came home to quickly get ready for work. I was just about out the door when one of my kiddo's mom called and said the school was closed. Since they live about 45 minutes away from me she said we could just add on to friday's session. Score!!! My next kiddo isn't until 3:30. What to do with all this time?
Well, the good little housewife in me decided to deep clean the house. I swept, mopped, did loads of laundry, vacuumed, and dusted. All at 8am. M still hadn't taken out the garbage from the party(which is his one chore)so instead of nagging him to do so, I decided to take all 5 bags out. Not a good idea. As the garbage bag burst and spilled all over me and the ground, I immediately started cursing my hubby in my head. It was at this moment I realized how different men and women are. I used my extra free time to get stuff done around the house, M would have come home, plopped his butt down on my freshly polished and dusted coffee table and turned on the playstation. He has it so rough!
What irritated me about taking the garbage out today is this. On Monday I was telling my husband how I was so stressed out trying to balance work and school along with housework and spending as much time with him as possible before he deploys. He asked what he could do to help and promised to help out around the house more. Well the garbage was still sitting here and our kitchen table is full of his loads of laundry that he hasn't put away. At least I don't have to do his laundry since he does his own
M was also supposed to pay our rent and make an appt for us to get our taxes done. After weeks of nagging him to make an appt, he admitted he lost the number's of the accountant I gave him. Talk about frustrating. He then told me I needed to stop nagging and that it would get done. I am freaking out since he leaves in less than 3 weeks and we need to get that done. He also didn't pay our rent like he was supposed so I had to go today to take care of it. Sometimes I just want to scream. Instead of making things easier, he adds more stuff on for me to do. His excuse is he is deploying soon and has a lot going on
I understand that, I really do. So I'm trying not to nag, not to worry and to just make life at home as calm and peaceful as possible before he deploys. After all we are both terribly on edge and it's just not worth it to fight over taking the garbage out.
But let me ask you ladies this, Do you face this problem with your hubby? Does your hubby help clean and do things around the house or is the house work left mainly up to you? Just curious
Happy Wednesday, I am def looking forward to the weekend!!

I'm Already Gone
Today I rushed to Barnes and Nobles to pick up this..

I love Jodi Picoult's books. For those of you who have never read her she wrote My Sister's Keeper which was then turned into a movie with Cameron Diaz. Last year I read that she was working on a book about someone with asperger's syndrome. Today that book was finally released. As many of you know I am a behavioral therapist and work with kiddo's along the autism spectrum.I am looking forward to how she portrays the someone with asperger's in her novel. In the reviews I read some people complained about the way she portray's the family members of this child so I can't wait to read this and form my own opinion. Tonight I am taking a break from work and school tonight to just lay on the couch and start reading this book!!
On another note, I hate the days leading up to a deployment. We both know that are days together are limited and even though that makes us sad, in a way we are ready for M to leave. M has been walking around the house the last few days in a zone. After literally talking to him for ten minutes yesterday without any acknowledgment I became upset. M snapped out of his trance, apologized and explained that he had so much to do before he left that half his mind was already gone and the other half was figuring out everything he needed to do before he leaves. I can understand that for sure. I switch between being sad and commenting on the amount of days left together, to crying about him leaving, to just getting irritated about anything and everything he says and does. Some days I just want to snap and tell him to leave already. I know that sounds awful but sometimes the days leading up to the deployment are harder. You have this constant rush of ever changing emotions and as much as you want to push away the thought of him leaving, it's in the back of your mind at every minute. I am fortunate however that he will only be gone a few months
Two things I am really looking forward to when M leaves is
1. Sleeping in our bed..by myself!!! This may seem odd, especially since I hate sleeping alone and have a hard time falling asleep but after sharing a bed with a hubby and two 70+ labs I am excited to only have to share it with the dogs for awhile. With M home, the dogs sleep on my side of the bed, leaving me smushed up against them and M, while M has the whole other half to himself. Talk about back pain
2. I can't wait to watch tv until I fall asleep. While M was deployed the last time I fell asleep by watching movies. I love laying in bed with the tv on. Nothing can put me to sleep more. However, M hates falling asleep with the tv on so we never watch tv in bed.
So as silly as those two things sounds I figure it's better to look at the positive's of this upcoming deployment rather than the negatives.
After all, I'm an army wife. I can handle anything

An Amazing Birthday!!!
My 26th Birthday was def the best birthday yet! On friday the hubby took me out to an amazing restaurant. There was a little bit of a wait when we arrived so we ordered drinks at the bar. I had two pomegranate martini's and M had two 7&&'s. Needless to say before we were seated we were a bit tipsy!
We enjoyed an appetizer of calamari followed by a yummy steak dinner. After dinner we went to blockbuster to go rent some movies but finding none we returned home. I was still feeling my martini's and am ashamed to admit I passed out at 9:30!
Saturday morning I woke up bright and early and headed to work. Two of my client's canceled for the day so I hurried home to start getting ready for our party. Instead of cooking out we bought stuff to make subs and various chip dips. I even bought some 30 decorations for the hubby since we were having a joint party and he had a little mid life crisis moment. He recovered nicely, agreed to let me hang up the decorations and even helped me clean.
Our party was a lot of fun. It's always hard being the host and hostess and having different groups of people over but we managed it well. I wish I would have had more time to just chat with my girlie friends but there were a few of my hubby's co-worker's wives that I felt I needed to make an effort to get to know. Oh well, that's why my friends and I are having a girl's night later on this week!
Sunday I went to the dog park with some of my friends and then went shopping to use some of the gift cards I got as day gifts!!
Here is what I received for my bday
From my parents I received a $100.00 gift card to victoria secrets and purchased this swimsuit

Now my goal is to look as good in this swimsuit as the model
From my parent's I also received a few chamilia charms for charm bracelet. My mom had given me a chamilia bracelet two christmases ago and to be honest I didn't like it. I thought it was tacky. I wore it just so I wouldn't hurt my mom's feelings but I didn't think it was my style. However, I realized how much the bracelet meant to my mom and realized that this bracelet will be something I will have forever. I think I even shocked her when I asked for some new charms. So from my parent's i received a crown charm since I am still their little princess, a heart charm and a diamond ring charm
From my brother I received the movie Couple's Retreat and the book Big Girl by Danielle Steel
From my hubby I received a $50.oo hobby lobby gift card, a $50.00 forever 21 gift card and a flip flop charm and a bigger diamond ring charm for my chamilia bracelet.
From my girlfriend's I received an awesome smelling candle from bath and body works, this dress from express

a target giftcard which I already spent on a cute summer dress and an ulta giftcard!
One of my friend's whose hubby is deploying along with M, bought me tickets to see Three Days Grace in concert. The concert is a day before my 2 year wedding anniversary so she is now my anniversary date!!
With my ulta gift card I bought some new makeup. I used to wear bare essentials and then switched to Bobbi Brown. Since there is now Bobbi Brown here in fayetteville I tried out Mac foundation. However I wanted to try something new. I went in to Ulta and the women told me about this new makeup called Amazing cosmetics that is even better than Bare Essentials. I decided to check it out and wore it today for the first time and loved it. It's so light and natural feeling!!
All in all I had an amazing birthday but what made it so special was the fact that the hubby was here to spend it with me!!
