Summer Want's

It's finally summer. With our vacation a month away I am stocking up on all kinds of warm weather wear and things for our beach trip. Here are some of my favorite finds

I'm loving this seahorse blouse from target! It screams beach vacation

These towels and backpacks for the kids are on my must buy list from pottery barn
And this swimsuit is on it's way to my house right now. I'm hoping it fits. I have had the hardest time finding cute swimsuits this year. My post baby body has changed a lot more the second time around
And that's it. Now I need some good beach reads. Any suggestions?

7months

Ethan you are 7 months old. This has been your month! You have changed so much these past few weeks it is unbelievable

Teething hit you hard this past month. Finally I see your two bottoms teeth are trying to poke there way through and you aren't as uncomfortable.

Yesterday you crawled for the first time and a few days ago you sat unassisted and pulled yourself up to standing by using my leg. As usual as you do anything new and exciting I was right there clapping and cheering you on, all the while brushing back tears because my baby is growing up so fast

You have such a personality now. Your sister makes you laugh non stop. You love to watch her. Usually she does things that your dad and I think will either Hurt or annoy you, yet it sends you into a fit of uncontrollable giggles

You get up around 6am, play for a bit and then are ready for a nap by 9. You love falling asleep in your car seat or in your crib with your lovie in hand and your sound machine playing music. How long you nap varies and we spend the rest of the day playing and napping. You go to bed around 830/9 and you will sleep until about 4am when you wake up to eat.

You are exclusively formula fed. I was nursing you at night or for comfort when needed but the past few nights when I tried to nurse you you weren't having it :( my big boy is growing up

You wear 12 month clothes and are in size 3 diapers

You finally started liking the beach. You played in the sand as if you were playing in snow. Grabbing fistfuls and eating it or throwing it in your face. Thank goodness for baby powder.

You still have the best laugh and smile. Your bouncer is your favorite toy and you are changing more and more every day

We can't wait to take you on your first family vacation in a month. You have completed our family in so many ways. We love you baby boy

Morning Rambles

I hope y'all had a great Memorial Day weekend. I enjoyed having my husband to myself for the four day weekend. I know that many families were unable to celebrate with their soldiers past and present. Those who gave the ultimate sacrifice are always in my thoughts along with their families.

We kicked off the weekend Thursday night with the hubs buying a new truck. I figured he deserved it after a deployment hehe!

Friday we headed to Seaside, Fl. We missed Katie Holmes by a day!
We walked around the cute shops, and lounged on the beach with friends. By the time we got home it was time for dinner and bed.

Saturday we lounged around at home and went to a friends birthday party. It was nice spending time with each other and the kids

Sunday the kids were up bright and early and we spent the morning playing in the backyard. Then it was off to another birthday party and then home where we had some good friends over for dinner.

And we finished out the weekend by spending all day at the beach yesterday. I love living in fl! I can't wait to relax at the beach next weekend. Although relax is the wrong word. Gianna prefers to walk up and down the beach. Over and over. She can go for hours. But watching her little feet run across the beach, her smile light up her face and hearing her laughter is priceless. I can't help but look at her and smile, all the while blinking back years because my heart is so full of love for my two children. I am truly blessed

So What Wednesday!

So What...

-If I am declaring today a lazy day. Besides a trip to the park I have nothing else planned. And that includes cleaning, or cooking. I am going to relax today
- If I am reading 8 books at once. I'm going through a book phase where I start a book, put it down and start a new one. Cant find one that will keep my attention all the way to the end
- If I am counting down the days to our vacation. One more month to go and it can't come fast enough
- If Gianna's breakfast today consisted of applesauce from a jar and oranges from a can. Opps
- if my diet this week has failed. Today is another day
- If I bawled my eyes out when putting away Ethan's bassinett. My 20lb 7 month old doesn't fit into it anymore
- If my baby is back to waking up every 2 hours at night due to teething. I will take all the extra cuddles and snuggles I can get from my little man
- That the sod guys screwed up our sod delivery and now we have half a back yard that still needs to get done.
-That the budget got messed up due to the sod guys mistake. We will deal with it
-That I am out of coffee creamer. Milk and sugar will have to do
-That I plan on staying in my sweat pants all day. It might make me more motivated to work out. If not at least I will be comfortable all day!

The Perfect Weekend

This weekend was exactly what we needed. Relaxing. Friday the husband had off so we had some work done to the house. We are extending our patio and finishing up sodding the backyard so we had the guys come to pour the cement friday. Later on that night G and I went to Disney on Ice. She loved it. The boys were supposed to join us but we had a sick dog at home we couldn't leave unattended so I gave our extra tickets to my friend and her daughter.

Saturday we spent the day outdoors. I got up early and took the kids for a walk. After a walk we came home and played in the kiddie pool, ahad a picnic outside and played with chalk. That night our babysitter came over and the husband and I headed off to Destin for a date night. We ate at Mcguires(yummy food), walked around Harbor walk village, stopped at Target and walked along the beach at night. It was perfect in every way

Sunday we woke up, packed up the kids and headed for the beach. We were a little delayed since we locked ourselves outta the house so we had to wait for a locksmith to come get it open. Then off to the beach we went! Ethan screamed the whole time at the beach. Sigh but over all it was still a good time

After the beach we came home. Had friends over for dinner and ended out the night watching our favorite tv shows. The Borgias and Game of Thrones. The perfect end to the perfect weekend

Post Baby Body

Now that I am officially done nursing and being pregnant for awhile it is time to get my pre baby body back. However that will be harder than it looks. For one since having my babies I gain weight in totally different places than I did before. 2 it is hard to commit to a exercise routine with a husband who is always gone. the y is the only gym here in town with childcare and they don't accept babies until they are 6 months of age. With the summer months approaching and our family vacation a month away it is time to start to get in shape

My goal is to start doing a exercise video a few times a week and start going for lots of walks with the kiddos around our neighborhood. And I really need to cut out the soda, coffee, coffee creamer, and processed foods. If only I didn't lvoe food so much! Or have a husband who survived off of rice and lamb for months on end and who can devour anything in sight without gaining  a pound

But maybe if I put myself out there on this blog I can hold myself accountable. From here on out no more soda or junk food. I need to increase my intake of fruits, vegetables, drink lots of water and exercise more. We leave for our trip June 20th. I'm hoping to at least by then have lost 5 pounds and at the very least be well on my way to re-toning my body and gaining some definition besides baby flab

One of the hardest things about my post baby body is finding a swimsuit for the beach. I don't want to wear a two piece and scare all the tourists. My stretch marks and extra baby weight may be too much for some to habdle. however all the one pieces I have purchased I have ended up returning. They all make me look even fatter than my two pieces which I never thought possible. I mean I thought one pieces were supposed to suck everything in and hide it all. Not make me look 20 pounds heavier than I already am. And why are they cut so high. All one pieces make my thighs and hips look ginermous. And since they are plenty big to begin with I don't need any more help in that regard. So if anyone has found any cute, flattering one pieces let me know

and tomorrow I am going to start on my path on becoming healthy! Wish me luck

Damn hormones

Time goes by so fast. I think every mom can agree with that statement. Lately I am all to well aware of how fast time goes by. And some days I have a hard time dealing with that!

Take for example nursing. I nursed Gianna until she weaned herself at 10 months old. I planned on doing the same with Ethan but he is a big boy. A very big boy and around the 5 month mark I noticed when nursing he acted like he wasn't getting enough milk so I started supplementing with formula. He loved it! He would suck down an 8oz bottle in a minute. So I started pumping during the day, feeding him formula or breast milk for his feedings and nursed only at night. Pretty soon he started rejecting the bottles of pumped milk and preferred the formula. At the 6 month mark I stopped pumping and moved him to formula. He still nurses at night but that is it. Yesterday as I went to shower I noticed my nursing chest had all but disappeared. And I burst into tears

I now have to get used to this non pregnant, non nursing body that has been missing for the past 2 years. With the disappearance of my porn star nursing boobs came the arrival of my special monthly friend. This was all to much to take!
I walked out into the living room and looked at my 7 month old with tears in my eyes. My pregnancy with him seemed to fly by and his babyhood even more so. I can't believe how big he is already. I wanted to scoop him up and put him back inside my belly

And as I watched him stand on all fours trying to crawl I looked over at my beautiful, independent daughter. Since her surgery she has started talking so much more and clearly makes all her needs known. She has shown more interest in wanting to play with us and she is constantly learning something new and continues to amaze me everyday
One of her new favorite things to do is jump up and down in her crib. While lowered as far as it can go, she hasn't figured out how to get out of it yet. But it's only a matter of time. The other morning I woke up to the sound of thudding over the monitor and Gianna calling Mommy, I jumping.

So this weekend we will be converting her crib into a full sized bed. Wasn't it just yesterday that I was setting up her nursery and awaiting her arrival.

And this new surge of hormones isn't helping with any of this. I went from pregnant, to nursing to pregnant again. Now my body is finally trying to regulate after all of that and it's doing some crazy things! I thought pregnant hormones were bad. Post pregnancy hormones could be worse!

Diaper, Diapers and more Diapers

As a mom of 2 under 2 I am always buying diapers. And trust me those add up. I am always on the lookout for a good deal on diapers but tend to be very partial to certain brands. So when I got my package of earth's best diapers in the mail, sizes for each kiddo's I literally clapped my hands and jumped up and down with excitement. There has not been an earth's best product I haven't liked and I am beyond excited to try out their diapers and training pants

Another perk about Earth's best diapers is the quality of the product. Shortly after Gianna was born I started reading about all the chemicals in baby wipes and diapers. It scared me. I have gradually started changing out our cleaning supplies, laundry detergents, etc and bath soaps and diapers were next on my list. Now I don't have to worry about the safety of the brand of diapers my kids are in.

Here are some fun facts about babies and diapers

-          Did you know that a newborn urinates as many as 20 times a day? A newborn’s diaper will need to be changed every 2-3 hours for the first few months? The average baby will need at least 5,000 diapers changes before she is potty trained?
-          All the more reason to reduce your baby’s environmental footprint with Earth’s Best products! All Earth’s Best diapers, training pants and wipes are chlorine free and made with renewable resources!
-          Earth's Best Chlorine Free Disposable Diapers are available in seven sizes (newborn through size 6);

-          Earth's Best Chlorine Free Baby Wipes are unscented and  moistened with a gentle, natural lotion containing aloe vera and vitamin E. Choose from a pub-up tub, pop-up tub refill, travel pack or TOTS Flushable Wipes;

I will be offering a giveaway in a few weeks after I try out some of these awesome products!

Hawaii!!

Hawaii is always on my list of places I want to go visit. And next year it may be a possibility.

The hubs will be deploying much sooner than expected. And for much longer than originally planned. So when he shared me the news I said he owed me a trip to Hawaii! He agreed

So next year after his deployment we will be taking the kids to Hawaii! But I don't know much about traveling there. So I'm asking y'all for help

Whose been? Favorite island? Favorite things to do? Reasonable yet nice places to stay? Shoot me your ideas. I need to start planning and saving!

Mother's Day Weekend

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect way to celebrate Mother's Day. The family and I got a hotel room down in SanDestin Saturday night. We started off the day shopping and then walked around the cute little village of Baytowne Wharf where our hotel was located.

I took Gianna on her first merrygo round ride and she loved playing in the amazing playground they have. And despite the cloudy and chilly weather on saturday she loved splashing in the kiddie pool. Saturday night was low key. We stayed in the hotel, watched Ice Age, drank some wine and ordered pizza. I couldn't have asked for a better night

Sunday morning we woke up and went out to breakfast with our amazing friends who also stayed at the same hotel. I def need to start my mornings off with mimosa's more often. Screw coffee, mimosa's it is! After breakfast we debated about staying another night. But decided against it. We packed up, checked out and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing by the pool. Amazing

I am so truly blessed. Spending an amazing weekend with my family is the best gift I could ever ask for. The flowers, necklace and ring the kiddo's surprised with me were just an added bonus. God has truly blessed me and I give thanks to him every day for my beautiful family.

I hope everyone had a great mother's day! You all deserve it
